Franklin Ave. Equine's First Pinhook Venture a Success
Franklin Ave. Equine's first pinhook venture proved a success as 4-year-old filly My Sugar (Congrats) garnered a winning bid of $30,000 at Keeneland January from Anthony Manganaro's Kentucky Derby-winning Siena Farm. My Sugar, a good-looking and well-bred filly who cost $200,000 as a yearling, was claimed by Franklin Ave. and trainer Jason Barkley for just $7,500 at Ellis Park in August. Despite no luck on the racetrack and serious struggles getting the right races to fill for her, Franklin Ave.'s well thought-out strategy, value appraisal and active marketing campaign paid off for its co-owners. Look for an upcoming announcement about a larger-scale pinhooking opportunity in the near future or contact us to be placed on our mailing list.
